The consequences if the plans of ISAF continue.
- Many federations support only the Olympic classes. As a result the RS:X windsurfing class will lack the great World Cup and European events.
- The surfers on the Olympic RS:X board suddenly have no more contests at the highest level.
- A well-developed sailing class with very well-trained athletes will be exchanged for a sport still in its start up phase.
- The BiC Techno generation has no logical One Design follow on class.
- Passionated young athletes are suddenly empty-handed. They just don’t jump from a surfboard in a boat or go on a kite.
- In many countries, the top level courserace training programs will disappear.
- The further development of the sport will stagnate, at the very moment that this is on the rise among youth. See the today’s successes of the BiC Techno.
Proposals.
- Give the young athletes that have been training from 2008 on the RS:X the fair chance to qualify in 2016 for their sport course race windsurfing.
- Don't rush things up. If changes must be made then give the manufacturers enough time to make new sensible proposals for 2020. For 2016 small changes can be made in the RS:X where desired.
- Give course race kitesurfing time to develop.
